The Grand, York, owned by Splendid Hospitality Group, is delighted to announce that it has won two

coveted awards at The Visit York Tourism Awards 2024, firstly Large Hotel of the Year and secondly

acknowledge and celebrate the best of York’s restaurants, attractions, hotels and other local

hospitality, tourism and culture businesses. The Grand has become famous in the north for its warm

welcome, outstanding service and commitment to providing inclusive luxury for every guest, from

the moment they arrive. This is evident not only from The Grand’s guest reviews but also from the

about the importance of delivering true Yorkshire hospitality and this is something that we come

back to in every area of the business. From using fine Yorkshire produce in Legacy and The Rise to

greeting guests with that much-loved Yorkshire welcome and working with other Yorkshire

businesses to elevate the guest experience. It is fantastic to be recognised for this and our

commitment to excellence within the industry. Winning an award is always a career highlight for me,

but for our dedication to our guests to be recognised with two awards, which are judged by

influential people in our very own city, is something truly special.”

The two wins come after a sequence of award wins and accolades throughout the last year. These

include Concierge of the Year for Jordi Vaca, The Grand’s Head Concierge, Large Hotel of the Year at

The Yorkshire Post Awards, Chef of the Year for Legacy’s Head Chef, Ahmed Abdalla, at Be Inclusive
