HAY WELCOMES NEW CHAIR, STEFAN MICEVSKI
General Manager of Elmbank York, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, Stefan Micevski has been appointed Chairman of the Hospitality Association York (HAY).
HAY made the announcement following their November meeting, where previous Chair Adam Wardale stepped down to pursue a new role as Director of Hospitality at Middleton Hall Retirement Village in County Durham.
New HAY Chairman, Stefan has worked in hospitality for over 13 years, having worked in London for almost 7 years before moving to York and moving up the career ladder to becoming General Manager at Elmbank York, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. He is also a proud member of the Institute of Hospitality and has a masters in business administration.
Speaking about his new position as Chairman, Stefan said “I am absolutely delighted to be taking on the role as Chairman of HAY. The organisation has grown significantly over the last few years as a direct result of Adam’s drive and determination, he’s created a strong and effective community of York General Managers who’ve had a profound positive impact, I’m excited and committed to building on his legacy.
Hospitality is vital to the York economy and HAY is determined to continue supporting the city’s growth in tourism, retail and business sectors”
Under Adam’s leadership HAY has gone from strength to strength, building and enhancing relationships with key stakeholders in the city and growing an engaged membership. Adam was the driving force behind the recent launch of the HAY Hospitality Awards, which were hailed a huge success by all those involved, and he has also led some pivotal partnerships including the Hospitality Connect programme and the prison service release on temporary licence scheme.
Along with the support of the HAY executive committee: Vice Chair, Stewart Lorimer, Secretary, Rebecca Layton and Treasurer, Lionel Chatard, Stefan will continue to ensure future delivery of the goals and ambitions of HAY.
