YORK HOTEL ‘OVERWHELMED’ BY GENEROSITY FOLLOWING CORONAVIRUS APPEAL FOR NHS STAFF
Local people have been donating money to provide overnight stays for NHS workers at the Dean Court Hotel in York.
Due to the overwhelming support the appeal has received, they have now set up a JustGiving page where you can donate.
The hotel has since posted this message on its Facebook page:
“We are absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness people are showing. Due to the volume of donations already received and lots of people asking how to donate we have set up a just giving page to make it easier for everyone who wishes to donate. When we started this campaign we were not looking for donations, we simply wanted to try and help in these difficult times. The fact that so many of you are donating just shows how much love there is for our National Health Service.
These key workers are on the front line every day. They work so hard and travel from all over. They work long shifts, often with not much respite in between shifts. We need to keep their strength up and do whatever we can. If they can rest and sleep between shifts this will give them the strength to continue with their amazing work.
Stay safe! Protect our NHS!”
